My name is Amyra (pronounced uh-my-rah). Welcome to my blog. My mission for this site is to offer guidance, tips and inspiration for those who seek relief from all degrees of inner torment and its many forms of manifestation.
I have created this blog to share my insights, learnings, perceptions and reflections about life as it unfolds in my ongoing spiritual growth. The overarching theme in these notes is to do life with Total Presence, Power and Passion. In a nutshell:
Total Presence is living with all our energies anchored in our body as we observe life and express ourselves. This enables us to be acutely aware of who we are beyond our masks and take steps to reconcile the conflicts between aspects of ourselves.
Total Power is living with a solid connection to our often untapped powers within. The more we are connected to our power centre, the more we can discover, access and draw from it to create, change, heal, grow.
Total Passion is living with awareness of the abundant life force flowing in our body and by extension our entire being. This passion make us feel intensely alive, stimulated, expansive and connected to a greater force. When you practise total Presence and Power, you naturally flow into total Passion.
In real life, I am a spiritual coach who is passionate about guiding people to achieve a profound sense of comfort within themselves and liberate their true, magnificent selves. I am the creator of the holistic fitness method, Body Renew, which blends physical exercises with the healing arts, psycho-spiritual processes and mystical practices. My clients include those who struggle with body image issues, depression, addictions, insecurity, gender/sexuality issues; those who are inhibited in their self-expression; and those who seek spiritual meaning in their lives.
One of my goals for this site is to offer free video clips of body movements regularly to enhance your understanding of some of the information that I will be sharing.
The postings are raw presentations of my own material gleaned from my personal experience through life and may not reflect the beliefs/views of the establishments with which I am associated.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I welcome your comments.

I like your blog, exploring a totally different side of the human Psyche. Keep on writing now that you are in a more natural setting and working with really receptive people, I expect to see great things. You battle your demons on behalf of all of us!

Thanks for writing Joshua. Our model for treating addictions is based on healing the deep emotional issues which have resulted in the need for substance use, as well as changing behaviour patterns. For my part of the work, there’s a strong element of spirituality that comes in to tie it all together, creating wholeness and integration for the ex-user. We are not interested in using ibogaine in our programme. Cheers, Amyra

hi Joshua, thanks for writing again. I respect the validity of many approaches and do not tout ‘our way’ as the only way to treat addiction. As you rightly say, they’re just different approaches. I never judged iboga to be “bad”; in fact I personally have an interest in learning more about the therapeutic values of such substances. I also know that at present, incorporating iboga into our programme is not something our centre wants to pursue. All the best, Amyra

I love the new profile picture Amyra, it has a very mystical and artistic element to it. I feel like your staring into my soul from a place of complete peace and harmony. Brilliant.

Many thanks, Wade
A valuable reminder of that place of “complete peace and harmony” within me. I shall express myself from that place more!

Amyra is an angel of thought and a present day gift to mankind. Your words are inspiring, soothing and enlightening. Your body renew classes live on within my soul and your genuine help in restoring me to a balanced existence is something I will always cherish. Thank you!
It would be an honor to work with you in creating a self-help video series or documentary of your philosophy…not to mention the Body Renew DVD collection.
Peace and tons of love from your Canadian fan!

Amyra,
it has been a joy watching your grow and emerge in the time I have known you. I can feel you letting go of some of your own self-doubts and it results in a new calmness I see and feel when I am around you.

Appreciate the feedback, Carl. You’ve been instrumental to my growth in this past year. I value your honest feedback and gentle support which have helped me tremendously in my continued growth – both as a person and as a therapist. Thanks for doing a great job as my counsellor.

i have to thank you, I was starting to feel a tad desperate in my quest for sobriety, after such a hard road my life is looking up and I choose now to go back to drinking??? WTF I came accross your site and found some answers to why I have been so crazy. I look forward to following your site, it has already helped me and offered me a tranquil place.

Hi Paris,
Do not give up. A suggestion: how about turning around from seeing it as a “quest for sobriety” to “rewarding yourself with the joys of living to your full potential”?
One denotes a hard climb with uncertain results, the other implies it is a choice, which puts the power back into you… distressingly hard work vs relaxed option.
Blessings, Amyra

Amyra – happy new year to you – I hope it brings you the best ! Discovered and reading your blog – very interesting and well presented – I will keep checking in here for inspiration and ideas. I have been able to stay focused thanks to your help, and I am still on track with my healing process after three months have passed since we met – is it a short or a long time, I dont know, feels liek forever and yesterday at the same time. It feels better to be “me” than it did when I was in “the nebula” – so happy to have found my way out of the fog and into the light. Wishing you all the luck in the world – Daniel.

A very happy new year to you too, Daniel. I am delighted to hear that you are in such a good space. Your courage and willingness to grow have certainly supported you in getting to where you are today, and if you continue to move in this track you will discover more and more of your magnificence… and life will reflect back that magnificence to you. Hi Amyra,
Very thoughtful and inspiring blog. I am an ex-pat living in Thailand and wondering about the possibilty of doing some work with you (Body Renew etc.). My question: do you do ‘private’ work with clients or do you work exclusively through the center(s) you are associted with? Any information appreciated, perhaps via email if appropriate. Thanks – John
August 20, 2010 at 12:14 pm
John, I currently only work from the centre. We have just moved to a bigger property on the island of Koh Chang; my busy schedule means that I will not be available for private work at this time. I may, however, plan to start giving private workshops again in the next few months. Will keep you posted.
Blessings, Amyra
