How To Get Unstuck NOW By Tapping Into Your Spiritual Truth

Spiritual Truth

During meditation a few days ago, I had a vision that left a profound impression on me.  I saw a small, pitiful creature lying on its side on the ground.  It looked a bit like a newborn puppy – hairless, pale, eyes barely opened, and as though it was born deformed such that it struggled to even stand up on its legs.  But what struck me wasn’t its physical helplessness.  I could see through into the creature’s inner world of mental anguish.  It was trapped in a state of suffering, capable only of repeating a series of debilitating thoughts that reflected its limited field of perception.  The thoughts were about how restricted its world was, how it could never seem to get out of this nightmare into which it was cruelly born, and how helpless it was.

What To Do When Nothing Is Showing Up

What to do when nothing is showing up

Are you in one of those phases when you’ve been waiting for some changes but nothing seems to be happening?  As far as you know, you’ve done all the right things, according to what you know about the laws of manifestation.  You feel you’ve done everything that you’ve been taught – you’ve trusted, surrendered, taken inspired actions, etc. – yet nothing is showing up.

You’ve even tried doing nothing.  You’ve tried sitting in the void, but the void can be a bitch when all you get is pain or emptiness.  What else is there to do?

Elephant Medicine: Healing My Relationship With The World

Interacting with an elephant healed my relationship with the world
Only three months into the year, and 2012 is already looking to be a widly adventurous and creative year for me.  I am driven by a great enthusiasm to create – inspired by a curiosity to move into unknown territories.  In the material sense, it has translated into me taking up projects that test the boundaries of conventional thoughts/methods – allowing me to explore insights, knowledge, wisdom that may yield more exciting ways for people to experience the world.  It also allows me on a personal level to challenge my own beliefs and expand my perception of life.  All of this coincides with a deepening of my spiritual connection that has significantly raised my awareness in the last couple of months.

How Failure Can Lead You To What Your Soul Yearns

Discover your soul yearning with Amyra Mah
In the horror film ‘Vanishing On 7th Street’ there is a scene where John Leguizamo’s character Paul is led into a tunnel.  As he follows to the end of the tunnel, he finds himself facing a dead-end.  He turns around and sees the light furthest to him black out.  Then the next furthest light dims, and the next….  What struck me most was not the sensations the producers of the movie must have wanted to evoke in the audience, ie. to feel Paul’s increasing terror as darkness inches closer and closer.  Rather, it was how the remaining light becomes increasingly brighter as the light dims one by one.

Spiritual Beauty In Vastness

Snow-Covered Glastonbury Tor Inspires Spiritual Joy
Someone once asked what inspired spiritual beauty for me.  I replied that it is when I see vastness – i.e. a huge monument, a magnificent mountain, a sweeping horizon, a large body of water, etc.  We ruminated about why seeing something huge would trigger our sense of spiritual identity.  The person suggested that perhaps it reminds us of how small we are and amidst such grandness we are forced to respect the omnipotence of the higher power.  I wasn’t sure if it resonated fully with me and I’ve been thinking about it since then.

Trust Your Intuiton, Flow With It

I love it when I get powerful messages through friends.  There’s something about being able to sense our spirits while we’re engaged in human interactions – it’s that sense of suddenly knowing that we’re not just two people sitting in a little shop drinking coffee but that on a spiritual level we’ve been communicating with each other all the time despite the physical distance between us; and that what we’ve been communicating has been so wise that only in rare instances can we let in the depth of those messages.  When the depth of such messages are grasped and understood, it can have profound effects in transforming our lives.

Mission: Spiritual Joy At Every Moment

15 Jul
July 15, 2009

Over the weekend, I was sharing with friends that I had just discovered a new life mission: to experience spiritual joy at every moment.  In the past, I had spent years figuring out my life mission, and in the end, I always came out with something to change the world or that involved making some unique contribution.  Those are all very well, but as I think about it now, they smacked of arrogance – which suggests that I had not reached beyond the ego in coming up with what I’m here to do.

Spiritual joy is, to me, the most sublime of human experience.  Some qualification is needed for the term, and I begin by making clear what it is not.  It is not about feeling happy all the time, or looking cheerful by putting on a big, smiley face.  Rather, spiritual joy is a deep emotional experience that takes you far into yourself and expands your sense of beingness in the Universe.  You can feel spiritual joy even when you are sad or undergoing some emotionally tough experience.  This type of joy is akin to opening a big book containing sacred knowledge about life; it is enlightening and it fills us with wonder.

The Power Of Dragonfly

10 Jun
June 10, 2009

I am sitting by the rooftop pool in a hotel and watching a dragonfly trapped behind a glass wall.  Its wings are crimson and they reflect an iridescent shimmer as it flies.  I marvel at how powerfully the spirits are communicating with me today as I have come here with the intention to write about the symbolism of dragonfly, its significance in my life, and how it represents my work today.

When I was a kid, I loved being among nature.  I loved playing in the gardens – finding cool, shaded spots among bougainvillea shrubs and creating sanctuaries for myself.  I was a natural witch, spending lots of time collecting ingredients from various parts of plants, slicing up little roots, picking flower petals, extracting juices from leaves – and I’d pretend to make potions on a crudely assembled altar in the garden.  I was happiest when I was in nature – feeling an easy flow with the elements and an innate understanding of how energy worked.

A Symbol Of Healing

22 Jan
January 22, 2009

In my previous post, I wrote about the meanings we assign to things we see around us and how that can determine our state of being.  This morning, I made an association to something I saw and a healing was brought into my awareness.  A cold morning and I was working out in the gym when I saw this:

Tree Stumps with New Leaves Symbolizing RebirthThis is one of the stumps of a big tamarind tree that was cut down about six months ago because its leaves, which were falling in copious amounts, were staining the pool water, making it very difficult to maintain clear water in the pool.  I was sad when the news was announced as I had spent days meditating by the tree and had felt connected to it.  When the tree choppers were sawing off the tree, I had sympathised with the tree to the point where I almost felt as if my body was being sawn into half.  I remember hearing the sound of chainsaw and feeling a pain twisting into my torso.

Celebrating The Spirit Of Humanity

04 Sep
September 4, 2008

Every now and then, I am reminded of the richness and depth that is found in the human spirit.  In the materialistic world in which we live, we tend to relate to one another on a superficial level, and the human spirit is often concealed from our perception.  Since the materialistic world thrives on power struggles, our motivation has been lowered to “how do I get more?”.  In our drive to rise above others as the biggest, strongest, richest, best, we dampen the spirits of those with whom we interact.
